This project involved a series of buildings and a master plan for Capitol Technical University. It included a new academic hall, Campus Center, Residence Hall, and the Institute for Learning Initiatives (a living/learning building for the University). I was the lead designer and master planner for the entire site.

Fairfax Crossing - Fairfax, VA

This project involved the master planning of a community. It included 244 townhouses, a 138 unit 4%/9% LIHTC deal, and a 240 unit multi-family building. My role in the team was overall site planning, building planning, and elevation design.

Maple View Flats - Washington, D.C.

AERIAL VIEW - As Designed

This project is located in a historic district in Anacostia, Washington, D.C. on the location of the “Big K.” It is built as an affordable project using tax credits. The massing and materials were used to keep the building from overwhelming the existing site. It is a mixture of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units with a retail base and underground parking garage. I was responsible for the design and documentation of the project from inception.

Franklin Square is a 9 building master plan and design project that includes garden style apartments, elevator buildings, and a clubhouse. I was involved in the master planning, site design, elevation design, construction documentation, and construction administration of this entire project.

Riverwoods at St. Michaels - St. Michaels, MD

This project is located in St. Michaels, MD, and received 9% LIHTC tax credits. It is designed as two buildings with one housing the main amenity space. Surrounded by a single-family residential neighborhood, Riverwoods at St. Michael’s offers new affordable, garden-style apartments on a historic site and city. Respecting the architectural heritage of the surrounding resort town, the Riverwoods at St. Michael's incorporates a barn-like aesthetic that mimics the charm of the historic town.

1234 McElderry Street - Baltimore, MD

1234 McElderry is an exciting beginning to the redevelopment of the long-vacant Somerset and Old Town neighborhoods in downtown Baltimore. Helping to reduce the need for affordable housing in the city, 1234 McElderry will provide 104 affordable housing units in a walkable setting close to the city’s amenities. Other mixed-use buildings, retail spaces, and a new public park will infill the remaining urban blocks and connect to surrounding neighborhoods.

The Blake - Baltimore, MD

The Blake is an affordable housing community in Baltimore, MD located across the park from 1234 McElderry Street Apartments. It consists of a high rise apartment building with grocery and retail base. It qualified for both 4% non-competitive and 9% competitive LIHTC tax credits, i.e. a “twin” deal. It was submitted for permit and is awaiting final approval before construction can begin.
